Homeostasis in Anxiety
When I was searching for a panic cure to get over my panic attacks, I came upon some very important terminology, not only medical, but also psychological, one was the relevant definition of homeostasis.
The definition of homeostasis, when related to panic attacks and anxiety is the natural tendency that the body has to return to a state of balance and comfort.
A Homeostatic imbalance is, according to this definition of homeostasis, caused by the loss of efficiency in our control systems due to many reasons such as constant panic attacks which reduces the stability of our internal environment. It can also be caused by toxins in the bloodstream such as drugs, and even due to aging.
Returning to homeostasis after a panic attack is always the natural tendency of our body, and is stimulated through our parasympathetic nervous system, who’s main function is to return the body to the normal state of calmness and relaxation, and which can be stimulated with certain strategies and panic attacks techniques.
After reading this definition of homeostasis related to panic attacks, you may still be wondering why this is relevant to you.
This definition of homeostasis will come in handy after a panic attack if you remember that your body is designed for homeostasis, and that it is it’s natural tendency to restore it’s level of tranquility after each event. So that should bring you some confort knowing that.
In most cases when people are unaware of the definition of homeostasis when related to a panic attack, feel discomfort and fear, generally caused by their lack of knowledge about homeostasis and their very own parasympathetic nervous system.
The definition of homeostasis that I leave here applies to the panic attacks techniques which I have personally put together to help you overcome your very own panic attacks and general anxiety.
